Well, I have finally entered the world of blogging :-). As some of you know, I send a "Daily Word" to my study group at school. I decided to start this because of them. (ok-and several ppl asking) So hope you enjoy. The sight is going thru some transformation so please be patient. :-) I do have to give a great big "THANKS" to Sheryl for her help in all of this, and for putting up with this woman changing her mind a million times! (she is shaking her head and rolling her eyes as we speak-ha)(Oh-check out her blog if you haven't before-it is awesome!)
Ok-now for the first Daily Word:
Yesterday I found a baby bird out between the trailers. I approached it carefully. As I got closer, it didn't fly away. I knew something was wrong. My other P.E. teacher (Amanda) and I picked it up. It had lost one eye(it was orange ) and the other was very small. It could fly but couldn't see where it was going. It was so sad. We couldn't find a place that would rehab it, so I cleaned around the eyes with saline on a Q-tip and we put it in a tree back in the woods behind us. It was a sad moment as I wanted to help, but with the dentist and the two cats at home, was unable.
As I drove to the dentist, I thought about my little friend of the afternoon. How he is so like us. We are blinded, not knowing sometimes where to fly. Not feeling like we have any direction in life. Lost and wondering if there is anyone that will take care of us, our wounds. Hoping that someone will show up and rescue us. And then, when we feel we are lost and without hope, a helper shows up. But in this case, I could only help temporarily.I could only put a "band aid" on the wounds. But there is a Helper, one who can help-all the time.
the Psalms are full of David asking for help. Crying out to God to help and rescue Him. And you know what-He does. It may not be in our timing, but He does. And with seeing all the hurts and sorrows of my new friends on our online Bible study group, I pray He will come quickly to help. But know today, that if you need a Helper, He is there to pick you up and put you in a tree-for safety. Better yet-He will hide you under HIS wings.
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Psalms 46:1
"Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings." Psalm 17:8
Have a lovely day!
